    Thank you for your interest in The Piggott School. Please complete this form to book your place on one of our upcoming Open Morning events.

    Event Details

    • Time: 9:15 am – 10:45 am
    • Arrival: Please arrive after 8:45 am to help minimise traffic congestion in the car park.
    • Travel: On-site parking is very limited. If possible, we kindly ask that you walk onto the school site.

    On the Day

    On arrival, please sign in at the registration desk located outside the main school reception. You will then be guided to the canteen where our tours will begin. The morning will include a short welcome talk followed by a guided tour of the school, with an opportunity to ask staff questions at the end.

    Please note that places are limited for each morning. Once a date reaches capacity, it will be removed as an option from this form.

    Press Release: GCSE & Level 2 Results

    The Piggott School is extremely proud to share our exceptional GCSE and Level 2 results. The results continue to build upon the consistently strong positive trend of recent years, with students achieving an Attainment 8 score of 61. This score is well above the national average (typically 46), demonstrating consistently outstanding academic performance across all subjects.

    An 89% pass rate (9-4) across all entries is an achievement to be proud of, and we are thrilled to share that 46% of all entries were awarded the highest attainment threshold of grade 7 or above. 13% of all entries were awarded a grade 9.

    89% of students passed English, 90% passed Mathematics and 90% passed at least two sciences at Level 4 or above. 39% of students achieved a 7 or above in English, and 51% achieved a 7 or above in Maths. These results are an incredible achievement.

    Our combined English and Mathematics Level 4+ pass rate is 85% and our five GCSEs or more Level 4+ including English and Mathematics is 84%.

    First class results were achieved in the majority of qualifications with a significant number of subjects attaining an excellent pass rate of over 90%. 15 subjects achieved over 90% at 9-4 and 7 subjects excelled with 100% 9-4. In addition to the GCSE success outlined above, we are proud to share that our students also achieved outstanding outcomes in our vocational accreditation, Performing Arts Dance.

    We are excited that many of our students have chosen to return to study in our sixth form this September. It will be a privilege to support them in their continued learning journey and we are looking forward to seeing what they can achieve on an A Level or Level 3 Vocational pathway.

    The results that have been awarded are testament to the hard work, commitment and dedication of our students and staff. I am extremely proud of our school community who continue to work together to aim high and motivate our students to do well. My thanks to the staff, students and their families for their continued support.

  • Press Release: A Level & Level 3 Vocational Results

    Press Release: A Level & Level 3 Vocational Results – The Piggott School
    The Piggott School is proud to announce another exceptional set of A Level and Level 3 Vocational results. The students, and staff, have all worked extremely hard and this is reflected in the outstanding grades awarded.

    With over 240 students entered, our A Level pass rate was 99%.
    12% of our results were graded at A*. 37% of our results were graded at A*-A. 68 % of our results were graded at A*-B, and 87% graded A*-C.

    The average point score per A level entry was 40 points, making the average grade a B.
    Our Vocational Level 3 pass rate for Applied General qualifications was 100%, with Distinction* to Merit being 86%. 100% of students entered for a Technical qualification achieved a merit or higher.

    Josie W achieved 3 A*s, and she is excited to embark on a journey of English Language and English Literature at Oxford University. Max M achieved exceptional results, and he will be studying Economics and Finance at Bristol. We wish them well in their future studies.
    Following a robust, rigorous and competitive process, Eloise H has secured a degree apprenticeship at Deloitte. We are extremely proud of her achievements.

    The results achieved by our students this year will open doors and opportunities for an exciting future for many. We are extremely proud of the achievements of students and staff, reflecting the unrelenting commitment and dedication in our school community.

    I hope that our students will celebrate their success, finding happiness and fulfilment in whatever the future holds for them. My thanks to all our teaching and support staff for their continued dedication and professionalism.

  • 6th Form Open Evening - 19th November 2026

    Open Evening – Thursday 19th November (no booking required)

    On Thursday 19th November starting at 5pm and finishing at 7.30pm you are invited to our 6th Form Open Evening. We encourage you to visit us with your child. There will be a short talk from the Headteacher at 5pm, which will be repeated at 6pm and at 7pm. You will also have the opportunity to tour our school, meet with staff and pupils and ask any questions you may have about post 16 options.

    This is a very popular and busy evening. There will be limited parking on site and so you are strongly encouraged to walk or take public transport. Some parking may be on a grass pitch area which, weather dependent, could be somewhat muddy.

    Applications for 2027 entry will open October 2026.

    On Monday 29th Sept, Tuesday 30th Sept , Wednesday 1st Oct , Thursday 2nd Oct and Friday 3rd Oct, parents are invited to visit the school while our pupils are in lessons. Pupils will escort you on a tour of the school, answering questions and providing information as you observe the school in action.

    Tours start at 9.15am and will finish around 10:30am. Any parking will be on a potentially muddy grass pitch, so you are encouraged not to drive to the school site.

    This is a wonderful opportunity to see the school in full operation. If you would like to join one of the tours, please contact main reception in order to secure a place.

    We sincerely hope that you are able to attend on at least one of these occasions.

  • Year 11 Exams Information

    Dear Parents/Carers and Students,

    We have reached the end of another busy term! The Year 11s have been working really well in lessons on the whole, identifying strategies for their revision at home and planning how to track their revision for each subject in order to get the most out of their sessions.

    I am writing to share with you some key information and tips for the Easter break and the examination period. I have created a video for you to watch where I share important information about the exams and our Study Leave Sign-off System. We have also created a PowerPoint for you to read through with your child/children which details general advice for revision and exam preparations over Easter, as well as subject specific advice from Heads of Department.

    Letters regarding study leave decisions will be sent out by Friday 25th April. In the video I explain how the system works and once you have watched the video, if you wish to, please do complete the google form as described in the video. This should be completed by Monday 21st April:

    Balancing time for rest, relaxation and socialising for all our students during the Easter break is incredibly important (as detailed in the presentation). This is also a really important and very useful time for completing some quality revision in preparation for the examinations. On their return to school on Tuesday 22nd April there will be 8 days of lessons (and after-school revision sessions) before their Celebration Morning on Friday 2nd May, which is always a really lovely morning. More information about the Celebration Morning will be sent out after Easter along with the Exam Booster Session Timetable.

  • Year 8 Options 2025

    Choosing Year 8 into Year 9 options is one of the most exciting times in a student’s education as it gives them their first real opportunity to select some of the subjects that they will study. It also marks the start of planning for the future; the decisions that are made now will have an impact on post 16 and career choices.

    At The Piggott School our aim is to offer all students a broad, well balanced and relevant learning programme.

    All students will continue to study the examined ‘core’ subjects of: English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Science (Triple or combined) and Religious Studies.

    Students will also study courses in Physical Education and PSHCE. Opportunities exist to study a range of other GCSE courses.

    Please take the time to read the information below. Option Evening is usually held in January and more information will be provided here later in the year.

  • BRIYM Parent Workshop

    On Tuesday 5th November we hosted our first parent event with Building Resilience in Young Minds (BRIYM). The workshop was attended by over 150 parents and a summary of the session is below.

    Press Release: GCSE & Level 2 Results

    The Piggott School is extremely proud to share an outstanding set of GCSE and Level 2 results. The results that have been awarded are testament to the hard work, commitment and dedication of our students and staff.

    84% of students passed English, 88 % passed Mathematics and 86% passed at least two sciences at Level 4 or above.

    Our combined English and Mathematics Level 4+ pass rate was 82%. Our five or more Level 4+ including English and Mathematics is 80%.

    Exceptional results were achieved in many qualifications with some subjects achieving excellent pass rates of over 95%. Congratulations to Art and Design, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Food Technology, Further Maths, German, Photography, Physics and Statistics.

    We are excited that many of our students have chosen to return to study in our sixth form this September. It will be a privilege to support them in their continued learning journey and we are looking forward to seeing what they can achieve at A Level.

    The Piggott School is proud to announce another excellent set of A Level and Level 3 Vocational results. The students, and staff, have all worked exceptionally hard and this is reflected in the outstanding grades awarded.

    With over 200 students entered, our A level pass rate was 99%.

    32% of our results were graded at A*-A. 63 % of our results were graded at A*-B, and 84% graded A*-C.

    The average point score per A level entry was 38 points, making the average grade a B.

    Our Vocational Level 3 pass rate for Applied General qualifications was 100%, with Distinction Star to Merit being 80%.

    Three of our students have secured places at Oxford and Cambridge, after achieving the very highest grades in their disciplines. We are excited for them to embark on this journey.

    Emily Smith, Year 13, said ‘I’m feeling very happy and relieved with my A*, A and B in Psychology, Maths and Biology. I am off to study Psychology at Bristol’. Stanislaw Mitan will also be going to university. He said ‘I can’t wait to celebrate my grades; I’m looking forward to going to Loughborough to study Business Management’.

    Louie Shelton has chosen a different pathway, and he will be commencing a degree apprenticeship in Engineering with BMW. Huge congratulations to Louie for securing this position in a very competitive world.

    I hope that our students will take time to recognise and celebrate their success, finding happiness and fulfilment in whatever the future holds for them. My thanks to all our teaching and support staff for their continued dedication and professionalism.

  • Positive Behaviour for Learning

    In May 2023, we were visited by Ofsted and in November 2023, we welcomed a SIAMS inspection. On both occasions, the behaviour of our students was described as ‘exemplary’. The SIAMS report notes that ‘harmonious relationships and courtesy are strong features in the life of the school’ and ‘the school values of courage, respect, honesty, dedication, equality and love inform expectations’ across the school community.

    Despite this strong foundation of positive behaviour for learning, our staff were keen to revisit the school values and ensure that there was a consistency of expectation for learning across the school. We wanted to use the opportunity to define what behaviour we should expect in the classroom and at social times. Treating the school values as the bedrock of who we are, we quickly established that the very best learning environment is, without doubt, rooted in respectful relationships. With this in mind, we have developed a new visual aid that really defines, and describes, what behaviour we expect from all members of the school community.

    Posters will be displayed around the school and staff will be actively using the language displayed to recognise and reward excellent behaviour. Praise and appreciation are motivating for us all and, as a staff, we are committed to ensuring that our brilliant, hardworking learners are noticed and celebrated.
