Charvil Piggott Primary School

Part of the Piggott Church of England Academy

Music

Vision

Charvil Piggott Primary School aims to provide the best possible teaching and learning environment in which all students fulfil their potential. We consider Music to be essential to the well-rounded education of all children. Not only is it intellectually satisfying, but as an art form it engenders concentration, imagination, teamwork, individual confidence and self-discipline.

Intent

Students will experience a wide range of practical music making in both class and extra-curricular activities. They will perform and explore how music is created, produced and communicated through studying pieces spanning different genres, cultures and times. We aim to provide a positive, inclusive environment where students develop the six school values with confidence, but overall, where they develop as musicians.
