The Piggott Cricket Success

he Piggott School student Euan Woods was again selected to play in the Berkshire CCC Minor Counties 1st X1 this season and scored 32 runs in their first one day match against Wiltshire; In a 3 day match away against Herefordshire, Berkshire were bowled out for 276 on the first day, Euan scored 12!

Berkshire then bowled Herefordshire out for 239 with Euan taking 6 wickets for 69 runs off 24 overs.

Berkshire then scored 411-5 and bowled Herefordshire out for 179, Euan taking 2 wickets; Berks won by 269 runs! He also continues to play for Surrey Academy and Surrey Under 17's; on Sunday Surrey 17's beat Sussex 17's with Euan taking 3 wickets for 15 off 8 overs, and he took 2 catches! Currently he is away with Surrey 17's in Billericay playing Essex in a 3 day match.

He is doing an AASE with Surrey and has recently received a scholarship from The Brian Johnston Memorial Trust: " to assist promising young cricketers in need of financial support to achieve their potential and further their development towards County and National representation."

At Easter he travelled to South Africa with the Surrey Academy for a pre-season tour.
